It has been months since I discovered your model and I really find it amazing. I work on a project like yours with the Britannic. I am working at the HMHS and RMS versions of the ship on a same 1/350 scale model. I want to show, on starboard side, what the Britannic really looked like in 1916, and, on port side, what she would have looked like if she had become a Cruise ship as the Titanic ofr the Olympic. It is a great project and it is really difficult to find informations about modeling this ship. Therefore, if it does not disturb you and you you used plans to make the model, I would want you to halp me by posting pictures of your model as you were building it.
The ship had been build up using black and white reference on the net. However, most deck areas are bring scretchbuild out. I doesnt keep any build up process photos.
Thank you so very much for sharing photos of this absolutely wonderful model of HMHS Britannic. For the centenary of her sinking, I have been mesmerised by the recreation of her sinking by those behing Titanic: Honor and Glory, that has been posted on YouTube. The experts within the tiny Titanic enthusiast circles used painstaking detail to recreate the sinking. In looking for models of Britannic after seeing it, I discovered yours. This is the most breathtaking reconstruction of her I've ever seen, even down to teh wear and tear she would have experienced during her wartime hospital duties and the unique set up of her davits, the enclosed aft well deck and colour scheme. If you have any more photos to share or even videos, that would be so welcome to see. Many thanks again for your extraordinary work. This would not be out of place in a museum, particularly in Belfast, Southampton or the Museum of Science at the V&A in London.
Do u have any of the Brittanic model ships for sale? My 10 year old son is ecstatic about these ships and we cannot seem to find this size and detail for sale( and my hands don't allow me to assemble one myself) loveyourhair815@gmail.com
Did you build it yourself or was it a model kit ?
ReplyDeleteIt was a 1/350 Minicraft Titanic Kit & was being scretchbuild converted.
